...for Elementary Age...
"Reading stories to children is play. That's why youngsters who have stories read with them learn how to read faster and earlier. They get the joy of the story without work or study..."
- Mark Binder from "The Bed Time Story Book"
Whether you're looking for an educational program that's fun or a fun program that's educational, Mark has an assortment of shows and workshops that will fit any occassion.
As both an author and a storyteller, Mark is unique in his ability to talk about the reading and writing process -- while still keeping groups of all ages engaged.
"Thank you for coming to our school. The students and teachers truly enjoyed your stories. We all appreciated your enthusiasm! We will definitely keep you in mind for future events."
- Charlene Baer, Librarian, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Academy
In classrooms, libraries, cafeterias and auditoriums, Mark adapts his program to the needs of your organization and your listeners. He has several sound systems that can accomodate even the largest spaces.
"Mark's stories are awesome. Some are just for fun. Some are wonderfully educational. His Eureka! Math and Science! program gets youngsters in touch with the joy of science and math. His Art of Peace program gets at the heart of resolving conflicts. And his Holiday Present is simply a pleasure."
He is equally comfortable telling stories to a single age group, or to a wide variety of ages. (Though trying to tell stories for Grades K and 6 at the same time is a huge challenge!)
Story 35-45 run minutes. Intensive story making workshops are 60-90 minutes.
He has a huge repertoire of stories that change based on the needs of the listeners, the season, and even the weather.
You can invite Mark back again and again and every time he'll have new stories to add to the old favorites.
His books, "The Bed Time Story Book" and "It Ate My Sister" and his CD "Classic Stories for Boys and Girls" and "Tall Tales" are perfect examples of Mark's work and ability to capture the imagination.
Mark also offers training program for teachers and parents, as well as evening family "story concerts".
