What kinds of shows/presentations do I do?

I have three different types of programs: Educational, Business, and Entertainment. Each of these programs are targeted toward whatever group shows up. My work is age-appropriate. I have performed in schools, festivals, libraries, in theaters, night clubs and comedy venues. I've even performed in parking lots (though I don't recommend it).

How do I work in schools?

I like to be "used up" at the end of the day. If I'm not excited and exhausted then I haven't done my job.

I've found that more presentations with smaller groups or longer, in-depth, presentations also are more valuable for organizations.

That doesn't mean I don't do single shows -- if that's what you want, then I'm happy to help.

But I do generally book for half or full-days. Groups in a relatively close area may be able to share days.

I also am available for evening and weekends.

Ages and Show Length

Shows for young people (4-10) are typically 45 minutes long. They fit into class time.

Shows for older audiences (9-18) can be bit longer.

Shows for really old audiences (19 to 102)... well, you get the picture.

Workshops and Residencies

Workshops are intensive programs focused on a single topic. Workshops are typically 60, 90, or 120 mnutes.

Residencies are multiple day events that allow students and teachers to develop a deeper relationship with story, story telling and the storyteller.

Each residency is crafted to meet the demands of the particular school.

Residencies include a blend of presentations and workshops, allowing every student in a school to participate and learn. Evening community programs are encouraged during residencies.

Audience Size

My presentations are appropriate for groups of all sizes, from the very small (10-50) medium (51-100) and large (100-200). He also is available for jumbo (200+) presentaitons. I have excellent PA equipment to accomodate larger groups and inconvenient facilities.

Author Signings

Author events are combination of storytelling or reading and book-signings. Please inquire about minimum number of books.

Funding & Fundraising

Sometimes it's difficult to find the money for a program, and I want to help. I've started a new fundraising program that doesn't involve candy or wrapping paper. Call me for details.

I'm also happy to help with the grant-writing process. I am on the New England Foundation for the Arts Touring Roster, as well as the Rhode Island Artist in Education Roster.

For example, if your organization is a non-profit, you can apply to the New England Foundation for the Arts or the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. I'll be happy to help with the grant process: http://www.nefa.org/grantprog/nest/index.html
