The Brothers Schlemiel
The Brothers Schlemiel tells the story of Abraham and Adam, identical twins born in the village of Chelm, but confused from birth. The book is the story of their lives together, including adventures, pranks, encounters with robbers, bandits, soldiers and gypsies.
The Brothers Schlemiel is my first published novel. It was serialized for two years in 100 installments in the Houston Jewish Herald Voice, with installments published in nearly 50 other Jewish newspapers in the United States and Canada. An abridged recording of it called "The Brothers Schlemiel from birth to bar mitzvah" was made in 2001, and is still available in cd and download.
The illustrated hardback edition of The Brothers Schlemiel was published in February of 2008 by The Jewish Publication Society. Illustrations are by Zevi Blum.
